CGET 615  Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology (2 credits)
Prerequisite: CGET501 Integrated Life Sciences or equivalent


Course Description :
     The first part of this course provides the general reproductive biology which is necessary for understanding the hazard of chemicals to reproduction. The following topics, gonadal function, integrative processes (Hypothalamo- Pituitary – Gonadal Axis), targets for chemical toxicity, testing of male and female reproductive capacity, endocrine disruptors, and reproductive tests and regulatory requirements, will be covered.
       The second part of this course covers pharmacokinetics, mechanisms, pathogenesis, and outcome following exposure to agents or conditions leading to abnormal development such as structural malformations, growth retardation, functional impairment, and/or death of the organism.
