There is more that students need to understand about how to perform quality research and to be good researchers.
The important things students must learn before starting to write research papers are: how to select topics of a research,
how to find out that selected topic is not duplicated with others, whether or not your advisers will approve the title for the topic,
and where to find information and references

On May 20, 2014 CGI invited Dr.Bhinyo Panijpan and Dr.Pintip Reunwongsa from Mahidol University
to share their experience on how and why they decided to publish their research in international journals.
Dr.Bhinyo said that “There is no way to get experience except through experience,” so students learned from group practice
on planning for scheduling time before start writing, which journals to choose, what style of title of the paper would attract readers
as well as on tips to outline the introduction and conclusion that will lead the paper to public visualization.

CGI Learning Center creates this page to support students and researchers,

and plagiasism prevention & checking service as well as to keep updated with ongoing seminars and tutorials.

Citation or Reference Styles

  • What is?
    A citation is a reference to a published or unpublished source (not always the original source). A citation is an abbreviated alphanumeric expression embedded in the body of an intellectual work that denotes an entry in the bibliographic references section of the work for the purpose of acknowledging the relevance of the works of others to the topic of discussion at the spot where the citation appears.

    • Vancouver reference style or the author-number system, is a citation style, popular in the physical sciences, and is a referencing systems normally used in medicine.
    • APA reference style. The rules of APA Style®, detailed in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, offer sound guidance for writing with simplicity, power, and concision. APA Style has been adapted by many disciplines,used by writers around the world.

  • Turnitin
    Turnitin is an Internet-based plagiarism-prevention service created by iParadigms, LLC, first launched in 1997. Typically, universities and high schools buy licenses to submit essays to the Turnitin website, which checks the documents for unoriginal content. The results can be used to identify similarities to existing sources or can be used in formative assessment to help students learn how to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing.

    EndNote is a sophisticated citation manager. And, CGI now provides EndNote X7 as a tool to help students and faculty members to cite their research references effectively.

  • Zotero
    Zotero is a powerful, easy-to-use research tool that helps you gather, organize, and analyze sources and then share the results of your research.It is Open Source and free to download.

  • Mendeley
    Generate your citations and bibliography in the style of your choice - in just a few clicks. Compatible with Microsoft Word, LibreOffice and BibTeX.

Since 2007, CGI publications have been accepted to publish in international journals with Impact Factor higher than 2.

    In 2013, 38 CGI research papers were published in international journals with Impact factors from 0.4 to 4.5.

  • Journal Impact Factor
