CGI Songkran Festival 2016

Chulabhorn Graduate Institute held the CGI Songkran Festival activity in 2016 at the Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Chulabhorn Graduate Institute Building. The activity aimed to carry on some ancient Thai traditions which represent a unique cultural heritance of Thailand and to foster strong relationships among the staffs, faculty members, and students. Associate Professor Dr. Piniti Ratananukul, Acting Vice-Rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, presided over the opening ceremony on that day. Associate Professor Dr. Jutamaad Satayavivad, Acting Vice-Rector of CGI, Associate Professor Dr. Thanuttkhul Mongkolaussavarat, Acting Assistant Rector of CGI, together with CGI faculty members, staff and all CGI students participated in this event. Songkran Day is the traditional Thai New Year’s Day, which has long been considered and uniquely recognized as the day to pay respect to the elderly while receiving blessings from them. During the Festival, there was a ceremony of pouring water over the Buddha image including traditional Thai dancing by CGI students.
