CGET 601 Environmental Economics (2 credits)

Course Description:

This course offers a contribution to the efforts to incorporate environmental concerns into development. The main objectives of the course are : (1) to discuss, from an economic perspective, the cause of environmental degradation, (2) to provide a conceptual framework for information management in order to support decision-making involving the environment, (3) to provide an overview of economic methods that can assist in the evaluation of environmental costs and benefit, (4) to give examples of applications to the theoretical methods, and (5) to review environmental legislation in different countries as well as intergovernmental agreements.
