RESEARCH IN CHEMICAL BIOLOGY

Goals

The main emphasis of the Chemical Biology program is to train the students to be instrumental, knowledgeable, and resourceful in research related to drug discovery and development.

Our specific aim is to illustrate the link between the class materials and the “real-world” research problems. In contrast to the classical approaches of training the students to have one dimensional experience in either organic chemistry or biology, our approach provides the nurturing environment for the students to be goal-oriented when tackling the research problem globally by pooling all the expertise across all related fields. In addition, because a number of research projects are multidisciplinary, the students will be exposed to a team-oriented working environment.
