Chulabhon Graduate Institute (CGI) organized a special seminar on the topic of “Genome Mining in Natural Product Research

On June 21, 2023, Chulabhon Graduate Institute (CGI) organized a special seminar on the topic of “Genome Mining in Natural Product Research”. Dr. Tawatchai Thongkongkaew, a lecturer from the Chemical Science Program, provided a short lecture on genome mining and shared his experiences on microbial natural product research at CGI. We hosted two special guests, Ms.Hannah Büttner and Dr. Felix Trottmann, from the Department of Biomolecular Chemistry, Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology, Jena, Germany. They highlighted the application of genome mining technique for elucidating tripartite interactions among fungus, bacterium, and nematode in soil as well as discovering the biosynthetic origin of virulence factors in human-pathogenic Burkholderia bacteria. This seminar is part of academic service from Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI).
