Chulabhorn Graduate Institute organized special lectures to deliver science and technology knowledge

Chulabhorn Graduate Institute held special lectures to deliver science and technology knowledge. One such lecture was delivered by Professor Dr. Geoffrey A. Cordell, Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois, Adjunct Professor, University of Florida, and President of Natural Products Inc. An expert in natural products, Professor Cordell has many publications on this subject, which have achieved 32,303 citations on Google Scholar database, together with a h-index 86, which is an indicator of a high achievement in research. Under the topic “Practicing and Developing a Research Career”, his special lecture, which was delivered to approximately 50 participants comprising students and faculty mbmers of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) and researchers from Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), as well as interested members of other organizations, covered contents on natural products. On this occasion, Professor Dr. Prasat Kittakoop, a faculty member of the Chemical Sciences Program of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, also contributed a lecture on “Pitfalls in Structure Elucidation of Natural Products: NMR Misinterpretation”.

The lectures were held on Thursday 9-Friday 10 January 2025 at the 66-seat Lecture Room (Lecture Room 1), on level 2 of the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute building, as an academic service to support the Reinventing University Project, which is aimed to develop academic excellence of higher education institutions and produce high-level workforce for fiscal 2024. สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ได้จัดบรรยายพิเศษเพื่อให้ความรู้ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี โดยเชิญ Professor Dr. Geoffrey A. Cordell, Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois Adjunct Professor, University of Florida, and President of Natural Products Inc. ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านสารผลิตภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติ มีผลงานตีพิมพ์และผลงานการเขียนหนังสือด้านสารผลิตภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติจำนวนมาก อ้างอิงจากฐานข้อมูลของ Google Scholar database มีจำนวนการอ้างอิง (Citations) ถึง 32,303 ครั้ง และมี h-index 86 ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่ บ่งบอกถึงความสำเร็จด้านงานวิจัยเป็นอย่างมาก โดยครั้งนี้เป็นการบรรยายเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับสารผลิตภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติ เรื่อง “Practicing and Developing a Research Career” ให้แก่นักศึกษาและคณาจารย์ของสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ (CGI) นักวิจัยของสถาบันวิจัยจุฬาภรณ์ (CRI) และผู้ที่สนใจจากหน่วยงานอื่นๆ ประมาณ 50 คน นอกจากนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ประสาท กิตตะคุปต์ อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิชาวิทยาศาสตร์เคมี สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ได้ร่วมบรรยาย ในหัวข้อ “Pitfalls in Structure Elucidation of Natural Products : NMR Misinterpretation”

การบรรยายดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 9 – วันศุกร์ที่ 10 มกราคม 2568 ณ ห้องบรรยาย 66 ที่นั่ง (ห้อง 1) ชั้น 2 อาคารสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ นับเป็นการให้บริการวิชาการและตอบสนองโครงการพัฒนาความเป็นเลิศของสถาบันอุดมศึกษาและพัฒนากำลังคนขั้นสูง (Reinventing University) ประจำปีงบประมาณ พ.ศ. 2567 กลุ่มพัฒนาการวิจัยระดับแนวหน้าของโลก พัฒนานักวิทยาศาสตร์ที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญและเป็นเลิศเฉพาะด้าน โดยใช้การวิจัยและพัฒนาเพื่อสร้างองค์ความรู้และนวัตกรรมเป็นเครื่องมือในการขับเคลื่อน อันจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่องานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับสารผลิตภัณฑ์ธรรมชาติของไทย เพื่อนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ด้านการพัฒนายารักษาโรค อาหารฟังก์ชัน (Functional foods) และเครื่องสำอาง ต่อไป
