Chulabhorn Graduate Institute staged a Songkran event to uphold this Thai tradition and observe international New Year Festival

Chulabhorn Graduate, with the collaboration of the Student Club and the Division of Academic Support, organized an event titled “Songkran Day: Thai & International New Year Festival 2025”, on Wednesday 9 April 2025. The event started at 1:30 PM at the main auditorium on the second floor of the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute building. The purpose of this activity was to pay respect to the Institute’s administrators and faculty members by pouring scented water on their hands and asking for their blessings. The activity was meant at the same time to conserve and uphold this fine cultural tradition of Thailand and to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning about international New Year traditions. In addition, the event was aimed to encourage the personnel and students to jointly engage in activities that create warmth and affection and good relationship within the organization. Associate Professor Dr. Piniti Ratananukul, Vice Rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, presided over the opening of the event, in which the Institute’s administrators and faculty members kindly participated.

This year’s Songkran Festival started with the students’ representative extending a welcome to participants. This was followed by the cultural presentation and performances by students from different countries, namely, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Kenya, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. After the cultural performances, the administrators and faculty members joined in sprinkling scented water on the Buddha image, and the students’ representative invited the administrators and senior faculty members, such as Associate Professor Dr. Piniti Ratananukul, Professor Emeritus Dr. M.R. Jisnuson Svasti, and Associate Professor Dr. Jutamaad Satayavivad, to take a seat for the participants in the event to engage in the water-pouring and blessing ceremony. Following this ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Piniti Ratananukul delivered a message of best wishes from Professor Emeritus Dr. Somsak Ruchirawat, Rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, to the personnel and students. The event was concluded by a snack party and group-photo taking.

This “Songkran Day: Thai & International New Year Festival 2025” activity was part of the Thai art and culture conservation mission, which consists in conserving and upholding Thai traditional culture and promoting awareness of the value of the fine tradition and culture of Thailand. The event also provides an opportunity for a social gathering that creates unity among the personnel and students.

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ จัดกิจกรรมสงกรานต์ร่วมสืบสานประเพณีไทย และเทศกาลปีใหม่นานาชาติ

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ โดยสโมสรนักศึกษาสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ร่วมกับฝ่ายส่งเสริมวิชาการจัดงานประเพณีสงกรานต์ เนื่องในเทศกาลวันสงกรานต์หรือวันปีใหม่ไทย ร่วมด้วยเทศกาลปีใหม่นานาชาติ “SONGKRAN DAY: THAI & INTERNATIONAL NEW YEAR FESTIVAL 2025” เมื่อวันพุธที่ 9 เมษายน 2568 เวลา 13.30 น. เป็นต้นไป ณ ห้องประชุมใหญ่ ชั้น 2 อาคารสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อแสดงความเคารพต่อผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์ ด้วยการรดน้ำขอพรเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล และเป็นการอนุรักษ์ สืบสานวัฒนธรรมประเพณีอันดีงามของไทยพร้อมทั้งได้แลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมปีใหม่นานาชาติ นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นการส่งเสริมให้บุคลากรและนักศึกษาของสถาบันได้ร่วมกิจกรรมที่สร้างความรักความอบอุ่นและความสัมพันธ์อันดีภายในหน่วยงาน โดยมีรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พินิติ รตะนานุกูล รองอธิการบดีสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ เป็นประธานในพิธี พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์ประจำสถาบันได้ให้เกียรติเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมดังกล่าวข้างต้น

การจัดงาน เริ่มด้วยผู้แทนนักศึกษากล่าวต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม ต่อมาเป็นการแนะนำวัฒนธรรมพร้อมการแสดงของนักศึกษาแต่ละประเทศ ได้แก่ ไทย เวียดนาม ฟิลิปปินส์ เคนยา กัมพูชา อินโดนีเซีย และศรีลังกา หลังเสร็จสิ้นการแสดงผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์ได้ร่วมกันสรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป จากนั้นผู้แทนนักศึกษาได้เรียนเชิญผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์อาวุโส อาทิ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พินิติ รตะนานุกูล ศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ ดร. ม.ร.ว.ชิษณุสรร สวัสดิวัตน์ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.จุฑามาศ สัตยวิวัฒน์ เข้านั่งประจำที่เพื่อให้ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมได้รดน้ำขอพรเพื่อความเป็นศิริมงคล หลังเสร็จพิธีรดน้ำขอพร รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พินิติฯ ได้เชิญคำให้พรของศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ ดร.สมศักดิ์ รุจิรวัฒน์ อธิการบดีสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ กล่าวแก่บุคลากรและนักศึกษาสถาบันฯ จากนั้นรับประทานอาหารว่างและถ่ายภาพร่วมกัน

กิจกรรมวันสงกรานต์และเทศกาลปีใหม่นานาชาติ ประจำปี 2568 นี้ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของพันธกิจด้านการทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรมของไทย เป็นการอนุรักษ์สืบสานวัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทย ตลอดจนส่งเสริมให้นักศึกษาและ บุคลากรได้ตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของศิลปวัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทยอันดีงาม อีกทั้งยังเป็นการเปิดโอกาสพบปะสังสรรค์สร้างความสามัคคีของบุคลากร นักศึกษา อีกด้วย
