Chulabhorn Graduate Institute organized a Songkran Festival event to uphold this Thai tradition and International New Year Festival

Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, through the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute’s Student Club in collaboration with the Division of Academic Support, organized a Songkran Festival event, or Thai New Year, together with an International New Year Festival, on Wednesday 8 April 2026 from 10:00 AM onward. The event was held at the main auditorium on level 2 of the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute building, with Professor Emeritus Dr. Somsak Ruchirawat, Rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, presiding over the event. He was accompanied on this occasion by Associate Professor Dr. Piniti Ratananukul, Professor Emeritus Dr. Piyarat Govitrapong, Associate Professor Dr. Jutamaad Satayavivad and other senior faculty members.

Activities at the event consisted in pouring water on a Buddha statue and pouring water on the hands of revered elders and asking for their blessing. Such activities amount to upholding the fine Thai tradition, and at the same time encourage exchange of learning about international New Year traditions through video screening by students of various countries including Pakistan, Indonesia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka. After the water-pouring ceremony to ask for the blessing of the revered persons, Professor Emeritus Dr. Somsak Ruchirawat, Rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, gave a best-wish message to the Institute’s personnel and students. The event ended with a group-photo session.

The Songkran activities and the International New Year Festival of 2026 were part of the mission to promote Thai art and culture, which, in turn, amounts to conserving Thai tradition and culture, as well as to encourage the personnel and students to appreciate the value fine Thai art, culture and tradition. At the same time, the event provided an opportunity for their social gathering, which will, in turn, have an important effect of strengthening their esprit de corps.

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ จัดกิจกรรมสงกรานต์ร่วมสืบสานประเพณีไทย และเทศกาลปีใหม่นานาชาติ

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ โดยสโมสรนักศึกษาสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ร่วมกับฝ่ายส่งเสริมวิชาการจัดกิจกรรมเนื่องในวันสงกรานต์ หรือวันปีใหม่ไทย พร้อมด้วยเทศกาลปีใหม่นานาชาติ เมื่อวันพุธที่ 8 เมษายน 2569 เวลา 10.00 น. เป็นต้นไป ณ ห้องประชุมใหญ่ ชั้น 2 อาคารสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ โดยศาสตราจารย์ เกียรติคุณ ดร.สมศักดิ์ รุจิรวัฒน์ อธิการบดีสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ เป็นประธานในพิธี พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหาร อาทิ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พินิติ รตะนานุกูล ศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ ดร.ปิยะรัตน์ โกวิตรพงษ์ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.จุฑามาศ สัตยวิวัฒน์ ตลอดจนคณาจารย์อาวุโส ร่วมกิจกรรมดังกล่าว

ทั้งนี้ กิจกรรมประกอบด้วยการสรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป จากนั้นเป็นการรดน้ำขอพรผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์อาวุโส เพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคล และเป็นการสืบสานวัฒนธรรมประเพณีอันดีงามของไทย รวมทั้งได้แลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมปีใหม่นานาชาติผ่านการรับชมวีดิทัศน์ของนักศึกษาแต่ละประเทศ เช่น ปากีสถาน อินโดนีเชีย ฟิลิปปินส์ ศรีลังกา หลังเสร็จพิธีรดน้ำขอพร ศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ ดร.สมศักดิ์ รุจิรวัฒน์ อธิการบดีสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ได้กล่าวอวยพรแก่บุคลากรและนักศึกษาสถาบันฯ จากนั้นถ่ายภาพหมู่ร่วมกัน

กิจกรรมวันสงกรานต์และเทศกาลปีใหม่นานาชาติ ประจำปี 2569 นี้ เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของพันธกิจด้านการทำนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรมของไทย เป็นการอนุรักษ์สืบสานวัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทย ตลอดจนส่งเสริมให้นักศึกษาและ บุคลากรได้ตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของศิลปวัฒนธรรมประเพณีไทยอันดีงาม อีกทั้งยังเป็นการเปิดโอกาสพบปะสังสรรค์สร้างความสามัคคีของบุคลากร นักศึกษา อีกด้วย
