Chulabhorn Graduate Institute initiated a voluntary mangrove afforestation project under the theme “CGI Plants a Forest to Build a Future”.

On Friday 29 May 2026 Assoc. Prof. Dr.Thanuttkhul Mongkolaussavarat, assistant rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, presided over the opening of a voluntary mangrove afforestation project, which had been initiated under the theme “GCI Plants a Forest to Build a Future”. Together with the personnel and students of the Institute, he engaged in this activity at the Royal Thai Army’s Bangpu Nature Education Center, Samut Prakan province, which had been set up to commemorate the 72nd-birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute team was warmly welcomed and given suggestions for planting mangrove trees to serve as coastal erosion control, thereby extending green areas for environmental protection and the strengthening of the sustainability of both the ecological system and the local community.

This project is aimed to enhance the public-mindedness of the Institute’s personnel and students through their participation in the restoration of the mangrove forests, which are significant natural resources, and which at the same time serve as the reservoir of marine biodiversity as well as coastal erosion control. Moreover, the project is also expected to expand forest areas, prevent severe natural disasters, and become one way of reducing the global warming problems.

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ จัดโครงการจิตอาสาปลูกป่าชายเลน ภายใต้หัวข้อ “CGI สร้างป่า สร้างอนาคต”

เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 29 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ.2569 รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธณัฏฐ์คุณ มงคลอัศวรัตน์ ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดโครงการจิตอาสาปลูกป่าชายเลน ภายใต้หัวข้อ “CGI สร้างป่า สร้างอนาคต” พร้อมด้วยบุคลากรและนักศึกษาสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ได้ร่วมกันทำกิจกรรม ณ ศูนย์ศึกษาธรรมชาติกองทัพบก (บางปู) เฉลิมพระเกียรติ 72 พรรษา มหาราชินี จังหวัดสมุทรปราการ โดยมีวิทยากรของศูนย์ฯ ให้การต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่นพร้อมแนะนำวิธีการปลูกต้นแสมเพื่อเป็นแนวป้องกันการกัดเซาะชายฝั่ง และเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียวอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม นอกจากนี้ ยังช่วยเสริมสร้างความยั่งยืนให้กับระบบนิเวศและชุมชนในพื้นที่อีกด้วย

โครงการดังกล่าว เป็นการส่งเสริมให้บุคลากรและนักศึกษาของสถาบันได้มีส่วนร่วมในการทำจิตอาสาหรือจิตสาธารณะ เพื่อฟื้นฟูป่าไม้ชายเลนอันเป็นทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่สำคัญ และเป็นที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์น้ำหลายชนิด เป็นแนวป้องกันการกัดเซาะชายฝั่ง รวมทั้งเพิ่มพื้นที่ป่าไม้ ป้องกันการเกิดภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติที่รุนแรงและลดปัญหาโลกร้อนอีกทางหนึ่ง
