On Wednesday the 4th of April 2012, Student Union of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) held the “CGI Songkran Day 2011” activity at the main auditorium, 2nd floor of CGI building. More than 80 of CGI executives, program consultants, instructors, researchers, staffs, and CGI’s students joined this activity.
On Wednesday the 4th of April 2012, the “CGI Songkran Day 2011” activity was held by the Student Union of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) at the main auditorium, 2nd floor of CGI building during 14:00-16:30. The activity aimed to carry on the Thai New Year tradition and introduce Thai culture to foreign students. Also, this is an opportunity to boost up the harmony of CGI executives, program consultants, instructors, researchers, staffs, and students of both CGI and CRI.
The highlight activities of the day were the ‘pouring water to the image of Buddha’ to bring good fortune, the ‘Thai New Year blessing’ from respected elders to young participants, including a film of the origin and history of Songkran Day with English subtitle for foreign students and instructors.
In addition, there was a show by CGI freshmen about Thai folk games such as Mae Ngoo, Morn Son Pha, etc., which impressed all participants.
