CGET 608 Environmental Microbiology (3 credits)

Prerequisite:

CGET 501 Integrated Life Sciences or equivalent

Course Description:

The course will introduce students to basic biochemistry, genetics and physiology of microbial degradation of pollutants. Methods of detection of microbes and viruses in the environment will be discussed. Genetic engineering for novel biodegradation of pollutants and pathway(s) will also be covered.
