Wai Kru Ceremony 2014

Associate Professor Jutamaad Satayavivad, CGI Vice-rector, presided over the CGI Wai Kru Ceremony, held at the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute on July 24th, 2014. The purpose of this ceremony is to observe an important aspect of Thai culture: the showing of respect and gratitude to all teachers. It also helps to build a good relationship between teachers and students, as well as plays a role in welcoming all new students to the Institute. During the ceremony, there was a presentation on the history of the Wai Kru Ceremony, followed by CGI student representatives giving flowers and jasmine garlands to teachers and pledging to be honest and hard-working students. To conclude the ceremony, the CGI Vice Rector anointed CGI textbooks for good luck, and gave a blessing to all students. CGI executives, MIT and CGI lecturers, and CGI staff and students participated in this Wai Kru ceremony.
