Chulabhorn Graduate Institute staged a Songkran event to uphold this Thai tradition.

Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, in collaboration with the Institute’s Student Club, organized an event on the occasion of Songkran Festival, or the traditional Thai New Year, on 10 April 2024, at 2:00-4:00 PM. The event, which was held under the concept of “Thai & International New Year Festival 2024”, took place at the main auditorium on level two of the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute Building. The purpose of this activity was to conserve and uphold this fine cultural tradition of Thailand and to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning about the national dresses of the respective countries to which the Institute’s international students belong. In addition, some participants in the event wore colorful floral-pattern dresses, which provided this Songkran Festival event with a lively atmosphere. Songkran Day of this year is a truly delightful one, because the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has formally listed “Songkran in Thailand, Traditional Thai NewYear Festival” as representing an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

This year’s Songkran Festival activities consisted in sprinkling scented water on the Buddha image, pouring scented water on the hands of the administrators and senior faculty members and asking for their blessings. Those participating in this ceremony included Prof. Emeritus Dr. Somsak Ruchirawat, Rector; Professor Emeritus Dr. M.R. Jisnuson Svasti, Director of the Chemical Sciences Laboratory, Chulabhorn Research Institute, and a faculty member of the Applied Biological Sciences; Associate Professor Dr. Jutamaad Satayavivad, Program Director of Environmental Toxicology; Associate Professor Dr. Panida Navasumrit, a faculty member of the Environmental Toxicology Program; Associate Professor Dr. Paiboon Vattanaviboon, a faculty member of the Applied Biological Sciences Program; and Associate Professor Dr. Nopporn Thasana, a faculty member of the Chemical Sciences Program. This ceremony was followed by Professor Emeritus Dr. Somsak Ruchirawat, Rector, presenting a message of best wishes to the personnel and students, and a group-photo session.

This Songkran Festival event was also aimed to promote a good relationship among the Institute’s personnel of all levels and students. The event was filled with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ จัดกิจกรรมงานสงกรานต์ร่วมสืบสานประเพณีไทย

สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ร่วมกับสโมสรนักศึกษาสถาบัน จัดกิจกรรมเนื่องในเทศกาลสงกรานต์ หรือปีใหม่ไทย เมื่อวันพุธที่ 10 เมษายน 2567 เวลา 14.00 – 16.00 น. ภายใต้แนวคิด “วันสงกรานต์และเทศกาล ปีใหม่นานาชาติ” (Thai & International New Year Festival 2024) ณ ห้องประชุมใหญ่ ชั้น 2 อาคารสถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่ออนุรักษ์และสืบสานประเพณีอันดีงามของไทย ตลอดจนได้แลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้วัฒนธรรมการแต่งกายประจำชาติของแต่ละประเทศจากนักศึกษาต่างชาติ นอกจากนี้ ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมบางส่วนได้ร่วมแต่งกายด้วยเสื้อผ้าลายดอกเพื่อสร้างสีสันบรรยากาศในช่วงเทศกาลสงกรานต์ โดยปี 2567 นี้ องค์การการศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ และวัฒนธรรมแห่งสหประชาชาติ หรือ ยูเนสโก (UNESCO) ได้ขึ้นทะเบียนประกาศให้ “สงกรานต์ไทยเป็นตัวแทนมรดกโลกทางวัฒนธรรมที่จับต้องไม่ได้” (Songkran In Thailand, traditional Thai New Year festival) นับเป็นเรื่องที่น่ายินดีอย่างยิ่ง

กิจกรรมสงกรานต์ ปี 2567 ประกอบด้วยการสรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป และรดน้ำขอพรเพื่อความเป็นศิริมงคลจากคณะผู้บริหารและคณาจารย์อาวุโส ได้แก่ ศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ ดร.สมศักดิ์ รุจิรวัฒน์ อธิการบดี ศาสตราจารย์เกียรติคุณ ดร. ม.ร.ว.ชิษณุสรร สวัสดิวัตน์ ผู้อำนวยการห้องปฏิบัติการวิจัยชีวเคมี สถาบันวิจัยจุฬาภรณ์ และอาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์ชีวภาพประยุกต์ฯ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.จุฑามาศ สัตยวิวัฒน์ ประธานสาขาพิษวิทยาสิ่งแวดล้อม รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.พนิดา นวสัมฤทธิ์ อาจารย์ประจำสาพิษวิทยาสิ่งแวดล้อม รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ไพบูลย์ วัฒนวิบูลย์ อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์ชีวภาพประยุกต์ และรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.นพพร ทัศนา อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์เคมี หลังเสร็จพิธีรดน้ำขอพร ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สมศักดิ์ รุจิรวัฒน์ อธิการบดี ได้กล่าวอวยพรแก่บุคลากรและนักศึกษาสถาบัน จากนั้นจึงถ่ายภาพร่วมกันเพื่อเป็นที่ระลึก

การจัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าว เป็นการส่งเสริมให้บุคลากรทุกระดับรวมทั้งนักศึกษาของสถาบันฯ ได้สร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างกันภายในองค์กร โดยบรรยากาศเต็มไปด้วยความอบอุ่น
