Loy Krathong Festival 2018

Chulabhorn Graduate Institute arranged Loy Krathong Festival in 2018 to promote the Thai tradition

On Thursday, 22nd of November 2018 at 11.30 am, Professor Dr. Somsak Ruchirawat, Rector of Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, presided the Loy Krathong festival held at the Chulabhorn Graduate Institute to promote the conservation of Loy Krathong festival. Loy Krathong is a Thai festival held annually throughout the kingdom to dedicate gratitude to water that is used to nourish and sustain life.

All faculty members, staff, students and outsiders of the institute were invited to join the festivity held on the first floor of the institute. At the festival, drinks and desserts were provided, sales of CGI souvenirs were at discounted price, presents draw organised by the CGI student foundation, and Krathongs were made available from natural resources and materials to participants that contributed. In addition, the festival also provided opportunities for staff of the Chulabhorn Royal Academy and personnel under the Chulabhorn Foundation to join the festival.

The activity is part of a project to promote the conservation of Thai culture and art, and to bolster unity, warmth and togetherness within the institution.
