Chulabhorn Graduate Institute would like to congratulate 3 CGI faculty members in the Chemical Biology Program as recipients of lectureship awards to present their research work in lecture tours in different host countries from the 13th International Conference on Cutting-Edge Organic Chemistry in Asia (ICCEOCA-13) at Chulabhorn Research Institute, Bangkok, Thailand.

The awards are given to selected participants for their research work in organic chemistry during the annual conference. The conference also serves as a platform for the participants to meet and exchange technology, advancement and innovation in organic chemistry which may lead to collaborations among chemists in the member Asian countries. The conference is held on a rotating basis in member Asian countries which is currently consisting of China, Japan, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. At the end of the past year conference in Thailand, three CGI instructors/researchers in the Chemical Biology Program were selected to received lectureship awards as followed:

Dr. Nopporn Thasan received lectureship awards from Japan and South Korea for poster presentation in the topic of “Tandem Cyclization of Ene-Yne-Oxazolones: Approach to Skeletal Diversity in Indene and Naphthalene Synthesis”

Dr. Charnsak Thongsornkleeb received lectureship award from China for oral presentation in the topic “Pd(II)/CAN-promoted Intramolecular Oxidative Cyclization of α-Propargylated 1,3-Ketoesters to 2,4-Diacylfurans”

Dr. Satapanawat Sittihan received lectureship award from Singapore for poster presentation in the topic “Synthesis of the KLMNO Fragment of Gymnocin B” These lecturers will be invited to give a tour of lectures in the corresponding countries with all domestic expenses covered by the host countries. We again would like to congratulate all three CGI CB faculty members for their success as recipients of these awards.
