สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์ ขอแสดงความยินดีกับ อาจารย์ ดร.จำเรียง ธรรมธร อาจารย์ประจำสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์เคมี สถาบันบัณฑิตศึกษาจุฬาภรณ์ ในโอกาสได้รับทุนวิจัยลอรีอัล ประเทศไทย เพื่อสตรีในงานวิทยาศาสตร์ ปีที่ 17 จากบริษัท ลอรีอัล (ประเทศไทย) จำกัด ในวันศุกร์ที่ 4 ตุลาคม 2562 โดยภาคเช้าเป็นการแถลงข่าวการมอบทุนวิจัยฯ เวลา 10.30 น. และในเย็นวันเดียวกัน เวลา 18.00 น. เป็นพิธีมอบทุนวิจัยฯ ซึ่งจัดขึ้น ณ ห้อง แกรนด์บอลรูม โรงแรม แกรนด์ไฮแอท เอราวัณ กรุงเทพฯ โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก คุณหญิงกัลยา โสภณพนิช รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงศึกษาธิการเป็นประธานในพิธี สำหรับทุนวิจัยลอรีอัล ประเทศไทยเพื่อสตรีในงานวิทยาศาสตร์ เป็นโครงการที่มอบทุนวิจัย ให้กับนักวิจัยสตรี ใน 2 สาขา ได้แก่ สาขาวิทยาศาสตร์ชีวภาพ และสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์กายภาพ เพื่อสนับสนุนบทบาทของสตรีนักวิทยาศาสตร์ทั่วโลกและในประเทศให้มีความก้าวหน้าและมีส่วนร่วมกับสังคมวิทยาศาสตร์โดยการคัดเลือกผู้ได้รับทุนในแต่ละปีจะผ่านขั้นตอนการพิจารณาอย่างละเอียดจากคณะกรรมการผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในวงการวิทยาศาสตร์ของประเทศไทย ซึ่งพิจารณาหลักเกณฑ์จากคุณค่าของงานวิจัยที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับสังคมกระบวนการวิจัยที่ถูกต้องและเหมาะสมกับวัตถุประสงค์ของโครงการ จริยธรรมในการทำงานของนักวิจัย และการเป็นที่ยอมรับในวงการนักวิจัยชาวไทย โดยผลงานของอาจารย์ ดร.จำเรียง ธรรมธร ได้รับทุนวิจัยสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์กายภาพ ภายใต้หัวข้อเรื่อง The synthesis of bioactive compounds and evaluation of their anticancer and antimalarial activities ทั้งนี้ งานวิจัยดังกล่าวเป็นการศึกษาวิธีการสังเคราะห์สารสำคัญที่มีฤทธิ์ในการยับยั้งเซลล์มะเร็งและฆ่าเชื้อมาเลเรีย ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การคิดค้นยาใหม่ๆ ทางด้านเภสัชกรรมที่จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนายาในอนาคตต่อไป
Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, congratulates Dr. Jumreang Tummatorn, a lecturer in the Chemical Sciences Program on the occasion of being awarded the fellowship L’Oréal Thailand’s For Women in Science 2019 from L’Oréal Paris Thailand on Friday, October 4, 2019. A press conference announcing the awards will be held in the morning at 10.30 a.m. and the fellowship presentation ceremony will take place at 6.30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom, Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. Khunying Kalaya Sophonpanich, Deputy Minister of Education will be presiding over this year’s ceremony. The L’Oréal Thailand’s For Women in Science fellowship aims to support and improve the representation of women working in scientific fields. In Thailand, the fellowships are given to Thai female scientists who conduct outstanding researches in 2 areas which are Life-Sciences,and Physical science. The fellowships are awarded to female researchers whose research work benefits communities, society, the environment and the country. Every year, applications will be carefully considered by a panel of science experts in Thailand who strenuously examine the applications in search for outstanding female researchers. For Dr. Jumreang Tummatorn, she receives the fellowship in physical science for her research titled “The synthesis of bioactive compounds and evaluation of their anticancer and antimalarial activities” This research could potentially lead to a breakthrough in new therapeutic agents for curing diseases and may eventually pave the way to sustainable development in drug discovery research in Thailand.
